Pesky Pancreatitis and Troublesome Triaditis
Dr. Allison German
Pancreatitis is an increasingly recognised disease syndrome in cats but poses difficulties in diagnosis and treatment. It can often be seen in combination with other inflammatory disorders including cholangitis, inflammatory bowel disease and other non-gastrointestinal inflammatory disorders. Traditionally, a syndrome of triaditis has been described – inflammation of the pancreas, liver and gastrointestinal tract. Episodes can be acute, chronic and/or recurrent. This case-based talk will discuss pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment; what to advise cat owners whose cats have one of these conditions, and a discussion on prognosis.
